In an effort to welcome both students and parents, I created a photo booth of sorts this year. It was simple to make and hung with tape from my ceiling. It was a hit. I think the parents probably enjoyed it slightly more than the first graders, and that's okay with me. I'm not just inheriting 23 learners. I'm also inheriting 23 families.

I published a book for teachers this summer. I'd love to share it with you. Check it out here

  1. I'm reading your book, Tammy. It's a great collection of thoughts. Are you going to write another one that's a collection of all your great ideas? Like this one, and the one one with the envelope that hung from the ceiling, and when you put new books in that box and opened it with the kids? That would make a great book!

    1. Ann, I'm not really sure what's in my book-writing future. My cousin and I have been saying for years that we need to write the book about the similarities between 1st and 12th grade. Thank you though for thinking I have more to say and share!

  2. I bet the parents loved having that memory to save! What a cute idea.

  3. I think I might have to copy this idea. Thanks and Good Luck this year!
