I've officially crossed over to the dark side. I'm now on Twitter. I'm not entirely sure how to use it, but I'm there. You can find me if you'd like.
(Click on my picture to visit.)
My plan is to use Twitter for professional development. So here's my question for all you veteran Tweeters. Who would you recommend I follow? Who are you favorite educational Twitter hot spots? Thanks for the tweet tips.
Congratulations! You are better than me. I still haven't really figured out how to use it other than to read the conversations people post. :)

Miss Trayers, I'm not so sure about that. It's still a foreign language to me.
DeleteYah!! I have just been playing around with it! I just followed you! Melissa
ReplyDeleteMelissa, thanks for finding me. I followed you back!
DeleteI have been using Twitter for over a year now. It comes in fits and spurts for me. Whenever I come on though, I always learn something or feel more energized about my job or books or whatever. I would follow @kathycassidy @klirenman @hechternacht @daydreamreader @cathymere just to start. Then check out who they follow. I usually am looking for new ideas to use in the classroom or books to read. You might also check out #1stchat.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing you around. :)

Kimberley, I loved all your suggestions and followed each one. Thanks!
Deletehttps://twitter.com/VinesGirl Follow me! :) I am following you now, Tammy. When you follow people, sometimes you will get emails about people who are similar to the ones you follow. Type in the names of professional people that you like and see if they are on there and follow them. The Book Whisperer author is on there and Regie Routman and a lot of others. When you follow someone, look at the people they follow and see if they follow anyone else you would be interested in.

Lori, guess what? I already followed you! Your advice is perfect. Now if I could only understand all that's going on.
Deleteagree, Lori's advice is great! There are some amazing sites to visit and you find them by finding people you like. Some helpful ones for me are Edutopia -@edutopia - has a lot of resources and a variety of topics; SMART classrooms - @aplustech; Ed Week - is a more collaborative community @Edweek; Teaching Channel - @teachingchannel - developing lesson plans; and our very own Ashleigh Jensen - @ashjenjensen is a resourceful person and finds great people to follow!
ReplyDeleteThere is so much out there that sometimes it can be overwhelming...so it's another instance of go slow to go fast. You'll love it; and you're so smart to use it for PD!
enjoy...Marie
Marie, thank you for so many great ideas. Looking forward to checking them out!
