Today my kids came back from spring break to find their published small moments and illustrations displayed on t-shirts. (Go here to get the background post about this and visit Amanda who shared the idea with me.) Most of my writers wore their shirts all day, and they sure enjoyed their audience.
While my best friend and I were ironing and doing our best to avoid toxic fumes (Okay, so I don't know if they were toxic, but they sure didn't smell great) she convinced me that I should make my own t-shirt. I wasn't so sure I wanted to bother with it, but she won me over. After all, I'm the literacy leader in my room and need to show how much I value being a writer too. Here's mine.
I'm wondering how many of them will return to school with these shirts on tomorrow? Regardless, what a way to celebrate being writers!
