Elf on the Shelf Book

I gave the Elf on the Shelf a go this year.  The kids named him Rudolph.  I really didn't use him for classroom management purposes.  He was just fun to have around, and the kids looked forward to spying him each morning.  I took pictures of him every day and made them into a class book, of course.  I think the kids will enjoy reading about Rudolph long after Christmas is over.

  1. Like you, I didn't really use my class elf for behavior purposes. My kids really enjoyed looking for "Jack" every morning. Their excitement and laughter when they spotted Jack was priceless. I like your idea of making a class book about the elf. One more thing to add to my to-do list for next year.

  2. I am sure your class loved looking for Rudolph each morning! I think that would be a fun thing to do. And of course you turned his adventures into a class book! :)

  4. My first year with the elf too. Next time we will make the class book again and maybe each child can write about the elf's exploits in their own little elf journal. Will try it out and see.

  5. I like the page you showed - that Rudolph likes the letter R. Too cute! You continue to expand my idea of what content would be great in a class book. Thanks for the ideas! Sara
