My school has a small but wonderful PTA who organized a fun Art Night for us this evening. Each classroom displayed art projects, and we invited parents to drop by and buy their child's art for a donation to the PTA. Here are just a few pictures of some of the displayed art. My mustached kids are first.
The PTA also invited staff members to donate their own artsy or creative creations for a silent auction. I made these three pieces.
The final numbers aren't in, but it looks like we raised over $1,200.00. :)
What a fabulous idea! I bet that's a very popular event.

DeleteJust curious... how much would each child's masterpiece be? Also, could anyone buy any child's work? (Just wondering if any parents got there too late to buy their own child's art.) Love this idea! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteTina, good questions. The art was bought for donation only, so it was up to the parents. I believe parents were buying only their child's artwork.

Sara, thank you. I like how it all turned out. Personally, I wouldn't want to combine this even with conferences, because I liked roaming around, interacting with families. During conferences I'm tied up. :)
