Handwriting Meets Classroom Book

I shared a while back about a strategy I use for teaching proper letter formation.  (If you'd like to read about that, go here.)  This post is about what I did with all the purple and green letters I made - 26 to be exact.  They were transformed into a book of course.

Just this week I saw one little reader choose the book during Daily 5.  She sat there and traced every single letter from beginning to end.  I thought it was pretty cool to watch.

When in doubt, turn things that might otherwise find a place on a dusty shelf into a book.

  3. I love that idea! I think this idea would work great with my son. He's a preschooler but I think it would help him with his letters.

  4. Oh, TAMMY!
I love this post! I am trying to find a SUPER hand-writer as we speak to help me make these Alphabet cards. I think your idea and this technique is AMAZING and the kids would definitely connect with it! I am still in awe of how PERFECT your handwriting is! BRAVO on that! I am a sideways lefty and boy, do I know it!

    1. Julie, I hope if you give this technique a try that it helps. It doesn't fix all issues, but it works pretty well for most kids...even lefties. :)
